Privacy
Responsible for this website and for the update service of the Longhand app is Niko Salewski, see the Impressum.
This website
The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver a page or a file, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the details your browser sends with each request, such as the address requested and the browser's name and version. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The site sets no cookies and runs no tracking scripts. Your browser contacts no other provider, except Loops when you enter your email (below).
To know how Longhand is used, the server counts views of the start page, downloads and the app's update checks. Each count records only what was asked for, the platform (Mac or Windows) and the country the request came from; no IP address and nothing else that could identify you. The counts are kept for three months (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Your email address
To download Longhand you enter your email address. Your browser sends it to Loops (loops.so, USA), which keeps the list of addresses for me and sends you one email asking whether you would like news about Longhand, such as new versions. Only if you confirm do you get such emails, each with a link to unsubscribe (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). If you don't confirm, you get no further email.
Updates in the app
When Longhand starts, it asks longhand.eu whether a newer version exists and, if so, downloads it. Like any request, it carries your IP address. It is used only to deliver the update and is counted as described above (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Your notes never leave your computer: Longhand reads and writes them in your own folders and sends none of their content anywhere.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of data about you, restrict or object to its processing, and complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
